PRINCE2® (Projects in Controlled Environments) is an AXELOS owned methodology which is initially developed as a UK government standard for information systems projects. It is a structured Project Management method and practitioner certification programme which emphasizes in dividing projects into controllable and manageable stages.

PRINCE2® provides a method for Managing Projects within a clearly defined framework.

PRINCE2® is adopted worldwide including Western European countries, UK and Australia.

Since its launched (1996), there are been two major revisions,

PRINCE2® 2009 (Updated in 2009)

PRINCE2® 2017 (Updated in 2017)

The recent update of PRINCE2® 2017 was to introduce the evolutions in Practical business practices and due to feedback from PRINCE2® practitioners in the actual project environment.
