    A Pro-Bono Masterclass for Trainers

Anyone can present. Very few can transform a room.

Thirty years. Twenty-six countries. Two training businesses. And every mistake in the book — handed over to you in one session, so you don't have to pay for them the way I did.

You've sat through a hundred sessions. How many changed you?

You remember maybe two. Maybe three.

Not because the others had bad content — the content was fine, the slides were fine, the handouts were laminated. They just didn't land. Something happened in the room, or didn't, and nobody could quite name what it was.

That gap between delivering information and changing a person is the entire craft of training. It isn't taught anywhere. Most trainers spend a decade discovering it by accident, one uncomfortable session at a time.

BetTrainer is the session that names it.

This session is for you if

You're a full-time trainer — on any topic, in any industry.

    You're a freelance trainer — building a practice and a reputation.

You train inside your organisation — L&D, enablement, onboarding, technical.

You coach your own team — and want the coaching to actually stick.

You've always wanted to teach — and haven't started yet.

You're not sure you can — and would like an honest answer.

If you recognised yourself in even one of those, you're in the right place.

    Come if you want to

    • Sharpen your delivery until it holds a room
    • Learn techniques that turn a session into an experience
    • Build toward training full-time — or part-time, on your own terms
    • Get your existing style validated by someone who's seen a thousand of them
    • Understand how the professional training world actually works — rates, positioning, clients, reputation

    Please don't come if

    • You've never trained and never will. There's nothing here for you, and we'd rather the seat went to someone who'll use it.
    • You're already a perfect trainer. Congratulations, genuinely.
    • You know it all. This session is built on admitting mistakes. That's hard to do in a room where someone can't.

We mean this. Seats are limited, and Vishal sponsors some of them out of his own pocket. Every seat taken casually is a seat someone else needed.

    Eight things we'll cover

No theory for theory's sake. Every one of these came out of a room, usually the hard way.

    01

    The Philosophy of a Teacher

Before technique, before slides, before anything: what you actually believe about the people in front of you. It determines everything downstream, and most trainers have never examined it.

    02

The Composition of a Good Trainer

The specific, nameable ingredients. What separates a competent presenter from someone people quote back to their colleagues six months later.

    03

    Personas in the Class

Every room has them — the sceptic, the over-eager, the silent one, the one who's been sent against their will. Learn to spot them in the first ten minutes and adjust in real time.

    04

    Mastering Conflicting Personas

What to do when two of them collide and the room turns. This is the single skill that most separates experienced trainers from new ones.

    05

    The Transformation: P → LR → LRED

Vishal's model for how a participant actually moves through a session — and where most trainers lose them.

    06

    The Athlete Philosopher

Why great trainers hold two contradictory disciplines at once, and how to develop both.

    07

    Virtual Training Nuances

Everything that quietly breaks when the room becomes a grid of tiles — attention, energy, silence, feedback — and what to do about each.

    08

    The Better Trainer Toolkit

The practical close. Techniques, structures, and openers you can use in your very next session.

About the fee — this is the interesting part

This is a pro-bono session. Vishal doesn't keep any of it.

    ₹5,000, in cash

Paid directly to us. Covers marketing, logistics, venue and materials for all participants. That's it — nothing else.

    Most people choose this
    ₹5,000, to an NGO

Donate the exact same amount to any NGO you believe in. Send us the receipt. That's your seat confirmed. Your money, your cause, your choice of organisation.

    ₹0

If you're between jobs, or this amount is genuinely difficult right now, write to us. Vishal personally sponsors a few seats in every batch. No documentation, no awkward conversation.

I'd rather the right person was in the room than the right payment cleared.

    About Vishal Vyas

Vishal is known globally as a coach and facilitator, with 30 years spent in professional training and consulting. He has delivered sessions in 26 countries, coached and mentored more than 100 corporate trainers, and built and run two successful training businesses.

He currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Knowlathon.

What isn't on the CV: he's spent those three decades collecting mistakes — rooms he lost, openings that fell flat, participants he misread, virtual sessions that died quietly. BetTrainer exists because he'd rather hand that collection over than let another generation of trainers assemble their own.

    Why I'm doing this

Over the years, a lot of people have come to me with the same question. Professionals who train already, and aspirants who want to. They ask what it takes to deliver a session that actually has impact.

I've answered it in fragments — over coffee, in corridors, on calls. Never properly.

This is my attempt to answer it properly, and to give something back to an ecosystem that has fed me for thirty years.

I'll share the good things I've learned. But mostly I'll share the mistakes — every one I made, and what each one cost me — so that you don't have to learn them the hard way.

That's the whole idea. There's nothing more to it.

    — Vishal Vyas

    Questions people ask

The session itself is pro-bono — Vishal isn't paid for it. The ₹5,000 covers marketing, venue and logistics for all participants. And you can route that amount to an NGO instead of to us.

Thirty years of mistakes. One afternoon.

You can keep learning this the way Vishal did — one uncomfortable room at a time, over a decade. Or you can sit in one session and take the shortcut he never got.
